What grades are offered?

Bethesda International Academy provides an academic program for Pre-Kindergarten (3 – 4 years old) full or half-day, a full-day kindergarten, and grades 1 – 8.

Do you offer a half-day kindergarten?

No, Bethesda International Academy only offers a full-day kindergarten program.

What are the school hours?

The opening bell rings at 8:30 am. Students are marked tardy if not in the room by 8:45 am. School ends at 3:15 pm.

Do students have to be Lutheran to attend?

Bethesda accepts students of all faiths. However, we are a Lutheran school and religious instruction, prayer, and Christian Education are key to our school life.

Is there a Before and After School program?

Yes – the before school program begins at 7:00 am and after school program ends at 6:00 pm These programs are held at the school and are available to students in grades preschool through eighth grade. 

Which academic subjects are taught?

The curriculum for each grade is designed to foster the growth and development of every student. The core curriculum includes religion, language arts/literature, mathematics, social studies, and science. Additional subjects include foreign language, computer, music, art, and physical education. Learning is designed to promote the spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth of each unique child.

Do students wear uniforms?

Yes, all Kindergarten through 8th-grade students are required to wear uniforms.

Does the school have sports teams?

Bethesda International Academy offers an array of extracurricular activities, including sports and fine arts. We support school teams for basketball, volleyball, cross-country, and track and field.

Is technology integrated into the classrooms?

Yes, technology is integrated into the curriculum and the classroom. All classrooms are computer networked and have Internet access.

Do you have a school lunch program?

No, we do not offer a daily school lunch program. Students bring their own lunch. Hot lunch is available on certain Fridays for those who which to purchase a meal.

How can parents/guardians get involved with the school?

We rely on our parents! To get involved, please attend our School events or talk to your child’s teacher to discuss ways you can volunteer or assist in the classroom.

Does BIA have a Statement of Non-Discrimination?
